Physical therapists help a person with an injury get better using specially designed exercises and tools instead of medications or surgery.

Physical therapists are MOVEMENT experts that provide hands-on care and education to their patients. PTs treat all types of patients with sports injuries, knee replacements, and people with lung disorders (COPD). COPD is a lung disorder that causes you to have trouble breathing.

PTs can treat all types of patients: babies born with birth defects and deformities (irregular bone structure, flimsy muscles), and some kids and adults who have had surgery, back pain, or stroke. Risk factors for having a stroke include high blood pressure, tobacco use and being overweight.
